NSB to impound Pat’s 1.5 million baht cash in bank account

The Narcotic Suppression Bureau (NSB) will impound 1.5 million baht cash in the bank account of TV actress Napapa "Pat" Tantrakul after suspecting that the money might be laundered from drug trafficking.

The NSB deputy commissioner Pol Maj Gen Chatree Phaisarsilp said the seizure of the cash was considered after Pat came to give more information of her cash in the bank accounts and to produce more evidence regarding the payment she received from her employers in TV performance roles.

During over seven hours of inquiries, he said Pat admitted that she received 1.9 million baht from her husband Akkarakit Woraroj-Charoendej, or well-known as Benz Racing, but she had transferred 400,000 baht back to her husband's account.

He said initial questioning did not find Pat had any connection with money laundering but the 1.5 !million baht cash in Pat's account would be seized and put in custody for further tracking.

But he believed the money was from laundering of drug.

He said the police would not charge Pat yet as investigation so far couldn't find her link to the money laundering of the Lao drug lord Xaysana Keopimpha's network.

Unlike Benz Racing case, he said the Lamborghini car he owned was bought from money he borrowed from Nattapol Narkham, alias Boy who was earlier arrested by narcotic police. Boy was in the drug syndicate run by the Lao drug baron Xaysana.
