ITA Airways Reaches Agreement with the Trade Unions and Signs the New National Collective Labor Agreement

ROME, Dec. 02, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The agreement reached today between ITA Airways and the trade unions is the result of a negotiation between the parties, carried out in compliance with their respective positions and with a collaborative spirit with the aim of protecting the Company’s workers and ensuring consistency with the objectives of the Strategic Plan of the Company itself.

The company has appreciated the openness of the trade unions that have recognized the peculiarities of the Company, linked to its nature as a start-up, to achieve and maintain over time a structural competitiveness of costs that makes it functional within the strategic design of a long-term partnership.

With the return of ITA Airways among its members, following the change in the leadership of the association with the entry of representatives appointed by ITA Airways, Assaereo has signed today the renewal of the specific part of the carriers of the National Air Transport Agreement, defining specific rules in supporting start-up activities and a new salary regime that can facilitate its diffusion in the sector, contributing to the improvement of competitiveness for all companies in the air transport sector itself.
Downstream of this agreement, ITA Airways and the trade unions signed the supplementary company agreement.

Overall, this agreement supports the strategic path of the Company which provides for employment growth as early as 2022, in line with the macro-economic and specific trend of world air transport, and development opportunities for flight crew. In fact, in the next few weeks, new courses for the training of Commanders will be launched to be used also on the new generation machines that ITA Airways will receive in the coming months from Airbus, as announced yesterday. It should be noted that the latest Command Training Courses date back to over 10 years ago, an important concrete sign that demonstrates the Company’s attention to flight personnel and their training, in order to fill roles of increasing responsibility. A minimum of 130 courses is expected in 2022.

Particular attention has been paid to corporate welfare and precisely this last element represents a big novelty of the new contract. In fact, for the first time, Health Assistance will also be recognized for all ground employees, while for the flight crew there will be an increase of the premium compared to current conditions. This is a proposal carried out by the Company confirming the attention to “people” who represent the pillar of the business plan.

Furthermore, within this new Industrial Relations Protocol, a Result Bonus is introduced for all ITA Airways employees, which will be calculated by combining the Company’s economic profitability and customer satisfaction, measured using the NPS certified system (Net Promoter Score). This variable component will represent 15% of the salary level and will be articulated on a six-monthly basis. The conditions for 2022 remain unchanged, while, in line with what was already foreseen by other airlines that had reduced wages due to the pandemic, from 2023 there will be a progressive realignment of the wage elements, starting from a 3% increase for pilots and 1% for flight attendants.

“After 5 years that the National Labor Agreement was not renewed – has declared Alfredo Altavilla, Executive President of ITA Airways – we have achieved an important goal that we are sure will ensure competitiveness for all Italian air transport companies. There are two elements to underline: the introduction of a Result Bonus, present for the first time in such a significant measure on remuneration and above all linked to customer satisfaction, and the confirmation of the profitability objectives of the business plan, which foresee the achievement of operational breakeven in the second quarter of 2023.”

TORONTO, Dec. 02, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Secret Pirates Entertainment Inc., creators of Lumiii franchise – the decentralized edutainment ecosystem built on the Solana (SOL) blockchain – announces that beginning December 2nd, the company will feature a new Dingle from the Dingles NFT series. The special event will take place each day from the 2nd until December 14th – #DingleDay and the official launch date for The Secret Order of Lumiiis trailer.

What makes #DingleDay Special? “It’s the day we all unconditionally love the most ridiculous Dingly parts of us! No judgment. All Dingle,” according to Ali Badshah, co-president, CEO and creator of the Lumiiis franchise. Dingles are an allegory to humans and human nature throughout the series. Dingle Day also celebrates Badshah’s two children, daughter Emma, whose birthday is also December 14th, and her brother, Roek. Badshah credits his daughter with inspiring him to create the franchise, adding, “Had she not asked me about the show, we wouldn’t be here today.”

The trailer will introduce the main characters from The Secret Order of Lumiiis animated series, which premieres in 2022. People can look for the quick response (QR) codes hidden in the trailer and uncover even more goodies like free LumiiiTokens, exclusive NFTs and other Lumiii products.

“We’re incredibly enthusiastic about the Lumiiverse, and to celebrate the NFT and LumiiiToken launch we will be airdropping 7.7 billion LumiiiTokens and 77 Dingles NFTs for 100,000 lucky winners in January 2022,” said Badshah. “Our unique approach to the blockchain has resulted in a kids’ media franchise that not only educates and entertains, but pays for itself with its own immersive crypto economy filled with fun and engaging products that provide holders voting rights, token winnings, residual earnings, and much more.”

Priced at 1.8 SOL each, the limited NFT collection has a total supply of 7,777 on Solana. An upcoming collection on the Ethereum blockchain is coming January 2022. Owning a Dingle NFT gives holders access to the Lumiiis’ world of Dingledum and the Lumiiiverse, providing passive rewards in the form of LumiiiTokens as well as chances to win even more physical and digital collectible assets. The rarest Dingles — those featuring gold foil backgrounds — will become characters in the Secret Order of Lumiiis series.

The Secret Order of Lumiiis is an animated tween comedy and edutainment series that explores real-world issues like poverty, climate change, financial literacy, discrimination and other tough topics that families struggle to address and other franchises fail to tackle. It is a lighthearted and fun series featuring vivid animation and comedy that hilariously exposes the troubles of the world, yet shows audiences that there is still a fighting chance to face those concerns head-on and win.

Constitutional Court’s full verdict enrages LGBT community, rights defenders

Thailand’s Constitutional Court ruled on November 10 that Section 1448 of the Civil and Commercial Code defining marriages as only between men and women is constitutional, following a petition filed by two LGBT persons seeking same-sex marriage. The ruling has been met with some frustration, with LGBTQI+, feminist and pro-democracy groups gathering in Bangkok on Sunday, in support of their joint campaign demanding equal rights for all genders.

But it has been only recently the public outrage took to another level, with the full content of the court’s long ruling being released.

A lot of phrases in the text are being deemed by some as sexist, politically incorrect and even demeaning, prompting a much louder outcry on social media, with the Thai-language hashtag translated as “the Constitutional Court is sexist” top trending on Twitter since last night.

The 12-page ruling notes that “Marriage is when a man and a woman are willing to live together, to build a husband and wife relationship to reproduce their offspring, under the morals, traditions, religion and the laws of each society. Marriage is, therefore, reserved for only a man and a woman.”

Other parts in the verdict also mention that members of the LGBTQIA+ community cannot reproduce, as it is against nature, and that people of those communities are no different to other animals with strange behaviours or physical features.

Human rights lawyer and advocate against domestic violence Busayapa Srispompong tweeted, “When prejudiced feelings or beliefs move into the realm of behavior, the result is discrimination, which denies to individuals or groups of people equality of treatment. #TheConstitutionalCourtIsSexist is clear evidence of ‘institutionalized discrimination.’”

Last year, the Cabinet approved the Civil Partnership Bill and amendments to the Civil and Commercial Code, both of which aim to legalise same sex partnerships, but not marriage.

However, the bill hasn’t yet been passed by Parliament and has already attracted strong criticism, with claims that the bill does not ensure the same rights as those enjoyed by heterosexual married couples and does not recognise engagement between same-sex couples.

Miss Universe Thailand’s unorthodox but traditional costume

Miss Universe Thailand 2021, Thai-Australian Model Anchilee Scott-Kemmis, will wear an unorthodox Thai costume based on that of an ancient Thai female combatant, featuring rope-bound hands instead of boxing gloves, at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in the Red Sea resort town of Eilat in Israel on December 12th.

The costume is called “Woman of Steel”, or “Nang Kad” in Thai which literally means a woman whose hands are bound in rope.

The avant-garde designer, Jaturon Raepetch, said that his costume design for Anchilee is inspired by a Thai traditional costume worn by female combatants in the ancient martial art which is the predecessor Muay Thai.

He said that he adapted the traditional martial art costume to blend with internationalism, to illustrate women’s power, courage and beauty, adding that it reflects more than just beauty, but also the unique identity and fighting spirit of the Thai people.

Thailand Sees Rising Investment In Eco-Friendly BCG Projects

BANGKOK, Thailand saw rising investment demand in environmentally-friendly Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) projects, in the first nine months of the year, amid the government’s efforts to boost sustainable recovery from COVID-19, according to official data.

During the Jan-Sept period, the country’s Board of Investment (BOI) received 128.4 billion baht (about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars) worth of investment applications for the BCG projects, surging from 49.3 billion baht during the same period of last year.

As of Sept, the total value of BCG investment applications, filed by both local and overseas investors, amounted to 677.2 billion baht, according to the BOI data.

The strong growth this year came, following the BOI unveiling a series of measures and mechanisms, to promote the BCG investment, as the Thai government declared the BCG as a national agenda and the core of the country’s post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

According to the BOI, Thailand expects the BCG sectors to make up around 24 percent of its GDP over the next six years.

“The BCG economy model is very much consistent with Thailand’s international commitment and also our goals,” BOI Secretary General, Duangjai Asawachintachit said. “We need to set out to promote measures in both public and private investment, in a number of targeted sectors, as key drivers to meet this objective.”

Thailand vows to reduce its greenhouse gas emission by 20-25 percent by 2030, and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.

Thai PM has no objection to holding New Year countdown event

Thailand’s Centre of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has been assigned by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to discuss with businesses how a New Year countdown event can be held in a way which will not lead to a COVID-19 resurgence.

The prime minster told the media that he is pleased with the slowdown in new infections over the past several weeks which, he said, is a healthy sign and that the government is preparing to ease lockdown restrictions further, citing the New Year countdown event as one example.

He said that he has told the CCSA to try to conclude talks with the private sector about the New Year event within a week and that it must be held outdoors with measures taken to prevent a new round of infections.

Although the Omicron variant has not been detected in Thailand yet, the prime minister said that he has instructed officials to try to track down the remaining travellers from eight African countries already in Thailand for RT-PCR tests, to make sure they are free from the Omicron variant.

oVice Announces Business Partnership With Zoom Video Communications, Inc.

A variety of video options are now available in the virtual office: oVice

oVice, Inc. Partners with Zoom Video Communications, Inc.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 02, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — oVice (Headquarters: Nanao City, Ishikawa, Japan, CEO: Jung Sae-Hyung, https://ovice.in) has recently agreed and signed a business partnership with Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (Headquarters: California, US, CEO: Eric S. Yuan), the provider of the Zoom video communication platform. This partnership will allow oVice’s customers to seamlessly access from its service platform to a Zoom meeting without having to move from one tool to another.

  • Background of the Alliance

In response to the new coronavirus outbreak and the need to renew the work-life, various “ways of working” are being explored as a new norm. Telework, which eliminates the need to go to a physical office, is becoming a more common way of working.

A virtual space “oVice”, has been used as a virtual office in telework environments by many companies, local governments, and educational institutions, with more than 10,000 users achieved in 1 year since its launch.

Despite oVice being equipped with a video meeting function, many online meetings with non-oVice users are held using Zoom (due to a larger user base). oVice, Inc. has received many requests from users to integrate Zoom, thus the company decided to form a partnership.

oVice has joined Zoom’s ISV Partner Program and will be able to provide services and solutions powered by Zoom that will support hybrid work styles.

  • Benefits of Zoom Integration

With the Zoom integration, oVice users can now have a seamless meeting from oVice without having to move between both tools. They will also have the ability to view which users are in which Zoom meeting, making it easier to shuffle between multiple Zoom meetings at once. This will also encourage more interactive collaboration between users.

  • Comments on the Alliance From Representatives of Both Companies

Paul Magnaghi, Global ISV Partner Program Leader, Zoom Video Communications, Inc.:

“We are excited to have oVice join our ISV Partner Program. Zoom has been partnering with multiple virtual office and virtual events solutions through the ISV Partner Program. Having oVice join us from Japan is great news for our international expansion. We look forward to providing a better online meeting experience to oVice’s customers through this partnership.”

Sae Hyung Jung, Founder & CEO, oVice, Inc.:

“oVice has been used as a virtual office for many companies, but these companies use Zoom for web conferencing, and many have asked for service integration. Through this partnership, we hope to make it possible for many people to work online comfortably, and to create an environment that will encourage hybrid work styles in the future.”

  • Future Prospects

oVice is a two-dimensional virtual space where people interact as avatars and can freely move on the web and easily talk to others by bringing their avatar closer.

Since its launch in August 2020, oVice has been used on more than 10,000 occasions.

Featuring a wide variety of use cases, including virtual offices for telework, online event spaces, and virtual campuses for education, etc., an increasing number of companies have connected their virtual spaces into “buildings” where employees from the entire company work.

In order to further develop as a “virtual real estate” company, oVice will not only acquire more users and raise awareness in remote work, but also develop technology that can be used comfortably in hybrid work and work with third parties to enhance the scalability of the service.
