Pak Chong: The Khlang Dong Police Station in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, has been sold through an auction process, concluding at a final bid price of 25,000 baht. A contractor from Surin emerged as the successful bidder, with the demolition of the structure scheduled to occur within the next 30 days.

According to Thai News Agency, the auction was announced via the Facebook page of the Khlang Dong Police Station. The sale and subsequent demolition of the old two-storey office building aim to clear space for various activities following the construction of a new three-storey Khlang Dong Police Station building, which is now operational.

The auction took place using an oral bidding method, with a starting price of 18,000 baht. The auction’s conditions stipulated that the winner would be responsible for demolishing the building, leveling the area, and removing all materials. A total of 19 bidders from different provinces participated in the bidding process, each incrementing their bids by 1,000 baht. Mr. Amorntep, the winning bidder, offered 25,000 baht three times, outbidding all competitors. He promptly paid the amount in cash upon securing the bid.

Following the auction, plans have been set for the demolition and clearance of all items from the site within a 30-day period. The auction proceedings lasted approximately one hour. The revenue generated from the auction will be transferred to the Treasury Department, as the property is categorized as royal property. Once the demolition is complete and the area cleared, the space will be converted into a parking lot for police station visitors and a training ground for police tactics.

Mr. Orathep, the winning bidder, expressed that the usable materials from the building are adequate. However, he noted that the financial outcome depends on the situation, as all cement scraps and unusable materials must be removed. Though based in Bangkok as a contractor, Mr. Orathep’s domicile is in Surin Province.
