BAAC rushes to help those affected in Chiang Rai Province, extends debt, repairs agricultural equipment Mr. Yuwaphol Watthu, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), welcomed Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, and her team to visit Chiang Rai Province to monitor the flood situation and provide assistance to flood victims in the North. BAAC provided relief bags to alleviate the hardships of affected people in Mueang Chiang Rai District at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. The bank has prepared measures to take care of farmer customers who have been affected, including their homes, agricultural areas, and products that have been damaged, affecting their income, by postponing debt repayment for up to 1 year without interest. Customers can inform their intentions at their local branches from now until December 31, 2024. For areas declared disaster zones by provincial governors, there are also measures to restore and enhance farmers' liquidity through th e Emergency Expense Loan Project 2024/25 and the Loan Project to Restore and Develop Quality of Life, to be used as investment costs for repairing houses and property, repairing damaged agricultural tools and equipment, and expenses for new rounds of farming.
