People were heard screaming loudly and saw people running from the mall into the hotel. He and his wife quickly took their young son and daughter and ran to the basement with a team of protection officers. and comforted his son and daughter who were crying with fright. He was concerned about other people, including the type of weapon and the situation at hand.

Tunku Ismail posted that he told officials to take him to the Malaysian embassy. But the driver said the Singapore Embassy is closer. Therefore, His Majesty contacted the Consul General of Singapore in Johor to facilitate taking refuge in the Singapore Embassy. He informed the Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Malaysia about the incident. The Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand was also present. And when they are confident that everything is safe, they will travel to the airport to return to Johor.
