Bangkok: Famous monks from across the country gathered for the consecration of 'Phra Klang Nai Phra Maha Sombat' to mark the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance. The event was attended by over 100 renowned monks, including Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamangkla Muni from Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan and other distinguished religious figures.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony included participation from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, along with Mr. Laworn Sangsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and other ministry executives. The event was held to allow the public, civil servants, and ministry personnel to partake in the worship as a source of spiritual support.
The Ministry of Finance, supported by the Treasury Department and the Bank of Thailand, introduced 50-baht commemorative coins and 100-baht commemorative banknotes in honor of the anniversary. The total value of the commemorative items signifies the 150 years since the ministry's establishment.
The ministry unveiled 'Phra Khlang Nai Phra Treasury Maha Sombat, the God of the Ministry of Finance,' which is highly revered for its association with prosperity and success. The offerings include three types of floating statues and four types of commemorative coins, each with specific characteristics and prices, ranging from gold statues to copper coins.
Reservations for the commemorative items can be made through the website from February 24 to May 31, 2025, or until all reservations are filled.
