A suspected gunman was apprehended by spectators at a cock-fighting ring in Pathum Thani province yesterday (Sunday) after he allegedly shot a man.
The victim was pronounced dead after he arrived at the provincial hospital.
According to Mueang district police and eyewitnesses, one of the spectators, in a red shirt, was engaged in a loud verbal exchange with another man on the opposite side of the cock-fighting ring in Mueang district.
Others called for the two men to stop quarrelling. Shortly afterward, however, a man in a red shirt was seen approaching the other man, in a white shirt, and opening fire with his handgun, which police say was a .357 calibre pistol.
The alleged gunman was overpowered by other spectators and held, awaiting the arrival of the police, while the victim was rushed to the provincial hospital.
