Military and Civilian Candidates Compete for Oil Fund Director Position

Bangkok: The new candidates for the position of Director of the Oil Fuel Fund Office have been revealed after the first round of applications failed to pass the review. This round has both military and civilian competitors. The Oil Fund Office (OFO), Ministry of Energy, announced that the recruitment of the new Oil Fund Office Director, which is open for applications between 17 February - 21 March 2025, the latest Subcommittee on the Selection of the Oil Fund Office Director, chaired by Mr. Wattanapong Kurovat, Director of the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), has signed on 23 April 2025 announcing the names of 2 candidates who passed the preliminary qualification examination: 1. Lieutenant General Dr. Kritpas Kongkapisut, former Deputy Director-General of the Department of Military Energy, and 2. Mr. Sombun Nokkaew, former Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy.

According to Thai News Agency, the interview and vision presentation will be held on May 8, 2025, and the results of the appointment of the new Director of the National Security Council are expected to be announced within May 2025.
