MOL and Ambassador of Bahrain to Thailand Host Discussions to Strengthen Labour Relations

Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to welcome H.E. Ms. Muna Abbas Mahmood Radhi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Thailand. She met with the Labour Minister to discuss labour market expansions in Bahrain, the visa facilitation for Thai workers, measures taken by Bahrain to prevent and resolve illegal labour problems, and awareness among businessmen and investors to operate in Thailand. Advisor to the Labour Minister Dr. Thongyu Kongkhan and Air Chief Marshal Fuengsak Ruangkol, Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined the welcoming at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.

Mr. Surachai said that the Ministry of Labour is pleased that Thailand and Bahrain have maintained strong relations for over 45 years. Currently, approximately 1,000 Thai workers in Bahrain are working in the service sector, industrial sector, and commercial sector. There will be more opportunities in the future that drive the economy and align with the policy of Bahrain’s development. He said that the Ministry of Labour thanks Bahrain for taking good care of Thai workers. The Thai government and the Ministry of Labour are ready to fully cooperate and support the work of the Ambassador to strengthen labour relations between Thailand and Bahrain for the benefit of the economic and social development of both countries and to work together to overcome the COVID-19 crisis together.

“The Ministry of Labour would like to thank the Ambassador and delegation for the visit and discussion with the Ministry of Labour today. The efforts will strengthen labour relations between the two countries,” concluded Mr. Surachai.
