Bangkok: The mother of a recently released hostage, Ms. Nukan Suwannakam, has expressed her relief and happiness over her son's return. She has vowed to ordain as a monk in gratitude for his safe release.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nukan Suwannakam shared her emotional ordeal while her son, Mr. Sathien Suwannakam, was held captive. She revealed that she had been unable to eat or sleep due to the distressing lack of contact with her son. Upon learning of his release, relief washed over her, although exhaustion led her to faint and injure her face. She is resolute in her decision not to allow her son to return to work in Israel. Keeping a promise made to the village's sacred figure on October 7, the day her son disappeared, she plans to ordain as a monk upon his return.

Ms. Sirinna Suwannakam, Mr. Sathien's sister, recounted the anxious months without news of her brother. Her fears were alleviated on January 30, when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the release of the hostages, including her brother. She expressed her joy and eagerness to reunite with him.
