Pheu Thai agreed to propose a draft of the Amnesty Act, hoping to create unity, assigning 'Chusak' to draft it. 'Wisut' clearly reiterated that he would not grant amnesty for cases under Section 110-112, pointing out that anyone who proposed it would suffer and all of them would be rejected. Reporters reported that in the weekly Pheu Thai MP meeting today (October 29), at the beginning of the meeting, many MPs expressed their opinions about the voting on the observations of the special committee to study the guidelines for enacting the amnesty bill, which created confusion because the Pheu Thai Party never voted to approve such observations. In fact, it was the MPs' privilege to vote. During that time, Mr. Noppadol Pattama, Pheu Thai Party-list MP, stood up and told the MPs that the party should have a clear resolution on some matters, such as the proposal of the amnesty bill, which currently has 4 bills in the parliament. The party should have a clear resolution and should have a role in proposing its own a mnesty bill to create reconciliation and unity in the country. Therefore, it is proposed that the party have a resolution to propose the amnesty bill alongside the original 4 bills, but not to grant amnesty for cases under Section 110 and Section 112. Then, Mr. Wisut Chainarun, MP for the party list and chairman of the MPs, added that if that is the case, the meeting should vote. The MPs all unanimously raised their hands in support of the Pheu Thai Party proposing the draft of the amnesty bill, excluding the offenses under Section 110 and Section 112, and assigned Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to draft the law and submit it. Then at 5:00 p.m. after the Pheu Thai Party meeting, Mr. Wisut gave an interview that the Pheu Thai Party meeting discussed the proposal of the Amnesty Bill, with the MPs unanimously agreeing to have the party resolve to propose the Amnesty Bill in the name of the Pheu Thai Party in the next parliamentary session to go with the four Amnesty Bills currently pending in the parliament, by having Mr. Chusak draft the legislation. Most of the content will be based on the report of the Special Committee to Study the Amnesty Bill's Guidelines, but there will be no amnesty for Section 110 and Section 112 cases because currently, no party wants to amnesty Section 112. If they propose it, everyone will suffer. If they propose it, it will be rejected anyway. In the past, the Pheu Thai Party has never said they would amnesty Section 112, they only said they would find a way to amnesty political cases. Therefore, not granting amnesty for Section 112 cases does not mean that the Pheu Thai Party has broken its Source: Thai News Agency
