Songkhla: Teenagers held a birthday party at a pool villa before a fight broke out, resulting in one person being injured in a shooting. An inspection of the scene found ketamine packets strewn about.
According to Thai News Agency, the Songkhla City Police Station received a report of a shooting incident at a pool villa in Ban Don Khi Lek, Tambon Phawong, Amphoe Mueang, Songkhla Province. The investigation division and the investigation team of Songkhla Provincial Police Region 9 jointly went to inspect the scene. It was found that one person, identified as Mr. Governor, was injured after being shot with a homemade shotgun once in the leg. His friends helped take him to Songkhla Hospital. On inspecting the scene, authorities discovered three bullets along the wall, which were collected as evidence, along with five more bullet holes.
In addition to the evidence of gunfire, the inspection inside the pool villa revealed traces of drinking and drug use, including a bag of ketamine and an iron machete on the table. Investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a fight between a group of teenagers who had gathered at the pool villa the previous night to organize a birthday party, with the event allegedly turning into a drug-fueled party attended by dozens of men and women.
The altercation escalated the following morning when two teenagers engaged in an argument, leading to an exchange of gunfire. The injured individual attempted to flee the scene by climbing a wall but was shot, resulting in his injuries. Subsequently, his friends rushed him to the hospital, while the remaining teenagers dispersed from the resort. Police investigations have identified the perpetrator and are in the process of summoning them for questioning, along with the other teenagers present during the incident. The pool villa owner will also be questioned, and legal actions will be considered if any negligence in allowing drug use is found.
The latest updates reveal that police reviewed CCTV footage, which showed that the cameras inside the pool villa were obscured by the teenagers since 2 pm on the day of the party. Consequently, the footage did not capture the events leading up to the shooting, which occurred at 9:43 am. Prior to the gunshot, it was reported that the argument involved remarks about each other's parents. The partygoers were reportedly alarmed by the incident and urged each other to swiftly evacuate the premises and take the injured individual to the hospital out of fear of police intervention.
One of the teenagers present during the incident reported that the confrontation had roots in a previous altercation the night before, where Mr. Bas's group had physically assaulted Mr. Beer. Mr. Beer left the villa at 4 am, returning later with two friends and immediately shot Mr. Bas before departing. Initial findings suggest the conflict was primarily motivated by a dispute over a woman.
