Thai PBS wins two consolation prizes for online news coverage

Thai PBS has won two consolation prizes from the Online News Producers Association for its news coverage of “Doing Homework for Hire” and for its video clip on “What If Hot Buses Have Gone?”

Over 100 entries were submitted for competition this year by news media the categories:

• investigative online news or documentaries

• online social media

• social promotion online news

• online news in video clip format

• online news in infographic format

• best online news

In the investigative reporting category, the most top prize went to the Isra News Agency for its in-depth report on alleged corruption in the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand. The agency also won two consolation prizes for its coverage of alleged corruption in Racha Theva sub-district administrative organization and alleged graft in the 323 million baht procurement of military buses.

The best online news video report went to “Dee 101 Percent Company” for its coverage of the removal of the deceased during COVID-19 pandemic. Thai PBS’s Chanakarn Arthorprachaqchid won a consolation prize in the creative content category on the issue of hot buses in Bangkok.

Thai PBS reporter Panit Kartnark was award a consolation prize for her reportage on the problem of hiring someone to do your homework.
