The 22nd Meeting of The ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) Sub-Committee on Information (22nd SCI) was held on 27th May 2021 via video conference at the Department of Information, Berakas.
The Meeting was chaired by Thailand and co-chaired by Viet Nam.
Haji Shahrul Jeffri bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Acting Director of Information as the Chairperson of the ASEAN-COCI Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) for Brunei Darussalam led the Brunei delegation.
The meeting was attended by Mufidah binti Abdul Hakim, Head of International Affairs Unit, as the Secretariat of the ASEAN-COCI Sub-Committee on Information (SCI), officers from Radio Television Brunei – Mohammad Syazwan bin Nordin, Special Duties Officer Grade 1 and Frankie Chan Kao Siong, Acting Head of International Affairs.
Among others, several project proposals for 2022 were discussed during the meeting namely; ‘Guide to Cyberbullying Training for Teachers and Students’ proposed by Indonesia, ‘ASEAN Information Exchange Initiative (ASEAN Exchange 2022)’ proposed by Thailand ‘Management of Government Information in Combating Fake News and Disinformation in the Media’ proposed by Indonesia.
