Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, presided over the opening of the project to develop the potential of the leaders of the social security network, the “Baworn” network group (houses, temples, schools, and factories) to improve work efficiency and enhance knowledge and understanding about Section 40 of the social security system, legal rights, working technique and technology needed for social security leaders to work. The session also allowed the exchange of work experiences and obstacles to working in the area. The ceremony also awarded a plaque to honour the outstanding “Bovorn” network. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province attended the ceremony at the Nopparat Room, 2nd floor, Royal Diamond Hotel, Rai Som Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province.

Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has emphasized the importance of creating opportunities and social equality to reduce inequality and accelerate the creation of social security to be comprehensive and suitable for all ages. It also focuses on disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, including many independent workers who are not socially protected. This is one of the reasons leading to social inequality. The effort is also in line with the government’s policy on “leaving no one behind,” an important mission to the Ministry of Labour that must be continued.

Mrs. Thiwalrat added that the Social Security Office had emphasized pushing independent workers to enter the social security system through network mechanisms. Therefore, it is necessary to build a strong social security network at the local level to help with social security tasks. Today’s meeting will allow the network to meet and exchange work experiences, including problems and obstacles of working in the Phetchaburi area. It is a very important and useful matter. She said that she believes that many people still do not understand and do not have access to social security benefits. Therefore, she encouraged all networks to share their knowledge gained from the meeting further with the people in the area to have the opportunity to continue access to state welfare.
